Tellima grandiflora is an adaptable, semi-evergreen, ground cover plant which is extremely useful for dry shade beneath trees and shrubs where it provides weed-suppressing rosettes of attractively veined and scalloped leaves, tinted bronze when young.
From May to July these bear tall, slender stems from which hang tiny, creamy-green bells with fringed edges, the flowers maturing to pink as they age. Itβs an understated plant, but one which provides a lovely light and airy companion to hostas and ferns, creating a delightful woodland ambience. It can also be grown in sunny spots, provided the soil remains reliably moist. Height: 100cm (40″) Spread: 50cm (20β).
Tellima grandiflora is a versatile semi-evergreen ground cover plant that thrives in dry shade. An adaptable plant, will tolerate dry soils in full shade, although prefers moist, humus-rich soil. If growing in sun, soil should be reliably moist.
