This mound-forming saxifrage is lovely cascading over shady walls, tucked into rock crevices or softening the edges of garden borders in cool, moist soils which don’t dry out in summer. It also makes a pretty specimen for a clay container or alpine trough. Saxifraga x arendsii ‘Mossy Purple’ forms low cushions of mossy, bright green leaves which are smothered in masses of upward-facing carmine red flowers from mid to late spring. Height and Spread: 25cm (10”).
Grow in partial shade, on any moist, but well-drained soil.
