Very fragrant, semi-double to double pink flowers with contrasting golden stamens from July to September. Rose ‘Admiration’ is a vigorous rugosa rose, forming a compact, bushy shrub with thorny branches and matt, strongly veined foliage. Generous crops of decorative, red-orange fruits follow the flowers and additional interest is provided by yellow foliage in the autumn.
Rugosa roses are undemanding, highly disease-resistant and drought-tolerant once established. They will grow happily in most soils and tolerate pollution and coastal locations. They make a reliable choice for mixed borders or defensive hedging and can even be used as ground cover on dry banks. Height and spread: 75-100cm (29-39in).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
Very fragrant, semi-double to double pink flowers with contrasting golden stamens from July to September. Plant roses at the earliest opportunity following delivery. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well drained soil. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole.
