A deservedly popular rose since its introduction in 1923. Rose ‘Phyliis Bide’ has all the old-fashioned beauty of classic ramblers but with the benefit of reliable repeat-flowering to boot!
Abundant bunches of small yellow flowers with an apricot-pink flush that fade to cream, creating a lovely two-tone effect. The flowers are long-lasting and have a medium-sweet scent. This medium-sized rambler will easily smother a large arch, pergola or wall with masses of flowers creating that quintessential, relaxed cottage garden style. Its slender, flexible branches are not too thorny making it easier to prune. Tolerant of both poor soil and partial shade it can even be grown on a north-facing wall. Height: 4.5m (15ft). Spread: 2m (6.5ft).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
A deservedly popular rose since its introduction in 1923. Rose ‘Phyliis Bide’ has all the old-fashioned beauty of classic ramblers but with the benefit of reliable repeat-flowering to boot! Plant roses at the earliest opportunity following delivery. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well drained soil. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole.
