This free-flowering, climbing rose boasts a blizzard of lightly scented, double, white flowers, often with a gentle tint of palest pink. This quick growing, repeat-flowering variety has a bushy, vigorous habit that makes a superb feature trained onto a pergola, sunny wall or draped over a shed or porch. The dark, glossy leaves contrast beautifully with its pale blooms. Rose ‘Climbing Iceberg’ is a deservedly popular variety, with an RHS AGM for its excellent garden performance. Height and spread: 3m (10’).
Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. Rosehips and petals can be used in making syrups and the petals will add flavour to cold drinks or fruit dishes.
This free-flowering, climbing rose boasts a blizzard of lightly scented, double, white flowers, often with a gentle tint of palest pink. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well drained soil. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole. Stems of climbing roses will require training against a suitable support such as a pergola, fence or wall.
