Rhododendron Summer Blues Collection

A stunning collection of dwarf evergreen Rhododendron. These hardy shrubs boast a neat, compact growth habit that makes them suitable for even the smallest garden. A dense covering of dark green foliage makes a handsome background for the profusion of spring flowers in a lovely range of blues and purples. Rhododendron ‘Summer Blues Collection’ is perfect for providing year round stucture and colour in patio containers, rockeries, mixed borders and woodland gardens. Height: 75cm (30″). • Collection comprises 1 plant each of:
• Rhododendron ‘Azurika’,– A profusion of azure blue flowers cover the stems in May.
• Rhododendron ‘Gristede’ – Purple, funnel shaped blooms in April.
• Rhododendron ‘Ramapo’ – The mauve flowers appear from April above attractive blue-green foliage.

Grow Rhododendrons in moist, well drained, acid soil that has been enriched with plenty of well rotted organic matter. Choose a position in semi or dappled shade with shelter from cold drying winds. Many dwarf Rhododendrons can cope with a sunny position provided that the soil remains reliably moist. Where soil conditions are alkaline, Rhododendron plants are best grown in patio containers, using a mix of ericaceous compost and a soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Rhododendrons are surface rooting so it is important to avoid planting them too deeply.
