Pyracantha coccinea ‘Sunny Star’ is a vibrant shrub which will catch your eye. It has less thorns than most other varieties which might be why the birds love it, with easier access to its abundance of yellow-orange fruits. Before the fruits arrive, there will be white flowers from June onwards. Please note these fruits should not be eaten and can cause stomach upset. Height and spread 3m (10’).
Grow Pyracantha plants as free standing shrubs or trained against a walls and fences. Plant Pyracantha in any well drained, reliably moist soil in sun or semi shade. Choose a position with shelter from cold, drying winds.
