Phlox Subulata ‘McDaniels Cushion’

A colourful ground cover for a sunny spot, Phlox ‘McDaniels Cushion’ is a classic mat-forming variety with fresh green foliage which is covered in dainty purple flowers from late spring onwards. Enjoying a free-draining soil, this creeping phlox looks most at in a rockery or gravel garden. Incredibly low maintenance, this hardy perennial plant will put on a reliable show every year with the minimum of fuss. The evergreen foliage acts as an effective weed suppressant all year round. Height: 15cm (6″). Spread: 50cm (20″).

Grow phlox plants in any fertile, moist, well drained soil in full sun or semi-shade. Incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting.
