Pennisetum Alopecuroides ‘Moudry’

This clump-forming, perennial grass, produces a multitude of arching, dark green, linear leaves that form a rounded clump. Purple-black flower spikes rise above the foliage from June through to September. Pennisetum alopecuroides ‘Moudry’ is best planted in groups for maximum impact in borders, but also creates a stunning display grown as a container plant on the patio. The leaves turn a golden yellow in autumn. The flower spikes fade to silver-grey making a lovely winter feature. Cut them to add to fresh or dried flower arrangements. Height and spread: 90cm (3′).
