The Monarda ‘Fireball’ has bright, whorls of scarlet flowers that bloom right through summer. This beautiful Bergamot has clumps of aromatic foliage, and has a more compact habit than older cultivars which shows less susceptibility to mildew, so you can be confident to show it in a prominent position in your summer garden. Attractive to bees and butterflies, this lovely, loud, hardy perennial is free flowering and easy to grow, and it can be cut and displayed too. Height: 60cm (24″). Spread: 40cm (16″). Bergamot plants dislike soils which are particularly dry or have a tendency to waterlogging. Plant them in a moist, well drained soil, adding compost or well rotted manure to amend excessively heavy clay or sandy soils. Choose a position in sun, semi shade or dappled shade.
