Miscanthus Sinensis ‘Silberfeder’

A perennial, deciduous grass which produces a dense clump of narrow, arching green leaves with an attractive silver midrib. Miscanthus sinensis ‘Silberfeder’ is ideal as a specimen plant or planted as part of an ornamental grasses border. During September and October plumes of pink flowers appear above the foliage over a long period. As late autumn approaches the leaves turn a tan colour and gently fade into winter. The flower heads stand well through the winter and are best left in place for their texture and colour. This grass is trouble free and easy to grow. Height: to 2.4m (8′). Spread: 1.2m (4′).

Miscanthus Grass may resent soils that sit wet in winter. Prior to planting, improve drainage on particularly heavy soils by incorporating plenty of well rotted compost and grit.
