Lavender ‘Heavenly Night’

Lavender ‘Heavenly Night’ boasts a profusion of slender dark violet flowers with a distinctive fragrance. The narrow, grey-green foliage is highly aromatic and remains evergreen. This robust cross between English lavender and Lavender latifolia was originally developed for the commercial growers as a short cultivar with high yields of Lavender oil. Commonly known as Lavandin, these hybrid plants are certainly garden worthy and make a fine addition to sunny borders. Height: 50cm (20″). Spread: 70cm (28″).

Improve heavy soil conditions by adding coarse grit or sharp sand prior to planting. When growing lavender in large patio containers, use a well drained soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. After planting, prune lavender plants to encourage bushy growth.
