Iris Sibirica ‘Snow Queen’

This elegant Siberian Iris produces pristine white blooms with golden yellow throats that rise on stiff stems in early summer. The narrow, strap-like foliage forms handsome spreading clumps that associate beautifully with broad-leaved perennials. Iris sibirica ‘Snow Queen’ is versatile, coping well in dry or moist soils. A lovely addition to damp borders or planted in moist soil beside ponds. Height: 90cm (36″). Spread 60cm (24″).

Iris sibirica enjoys a sunny position in well drained, neutral to slightly acid soil. These perennials prefer a free draining soil, so amend heavy clay soils with plenty of grit and well rotted manure prior to planting. When planting iris, ensure that the rhizome sits just at the soil surface as they are prone to rot if planted too deeply.
