A must-have for any garden, these double-flowered hardy Geraniums are easy, reliable and floriferous. Soft mounds of finely cut foliage support masses of multi-petalled double blooms, which despite their delicate appearance are tough and undemanding. Plant them in ribbon-like drifts as groundcover, use them as quick-growing gap-fillers, or run along the edge of borders where they will soften hard edges and create that informal ‘cottage-garden’ style.
Geranium Doubles Hardy Collection includes:
- Geranium ‘Cloud Nine’ – Fully double, pale blue flowers appear above attractive, finely cut foliage from May to June with a second flush in late summer. This strong-growing Cranesbill is disease resistant, and rarely damaged by slugs or rabbits. Its nectar-rich blooms attract plenty of pollinating insects. Height: 90cm (36”). Spread: 50cm (20”).
- Geranium ‘Laura’ – Long-lasting, weather-resistant, double-white flowers are produced from June onwards on upright, downy stems. The serrated leaves quickly create a mound of fresh green foliage that makes excellent ground cover. Unlike its single-flowered relations, Geranium pratense ‘Laura’ does not self-seed, making it easier to control. Height and spread: 60cm (24″).
- Geranium ‘Double Jewel’ – A ‘must have’ variety for any hardy Geranium enthusiast. Elegant rosettes of white petals are suffused with mauve-pink at the centre to create a beautiful contrast. The blooms are borne from early summer above a loose mound of finely cut foliage. Height: 40cm (16″). Spread: 30cm (12″).
A must-have for any garden, these double-flowered hardy Geraniums are easy, reliable and floriferous. Plant hardy geraniums in any well drained soil, in sun or shade. Water well to settle the soil around the roots.
