Fuchsia ‘Chilli Red’ is a hardy fuchsia smothered in masses of buds that resemble bright red chilli peppers. In May/June these open into pendulous, tubular flowers with long stamens that keep coming until the first autumn frosts. The flowers stand out beautifully against the mid-green foliage, well presented on a compact, upright bush. This fast-growing but compact shrub suits container-growing as well as small garden borders. Adaptable and low maintenance it will pour out flowers for months and is particularly useful for adding a pop of bright colour in partially shaded sites where it is needed the most. Height and spread: 50cm (20in).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
Fuchsia ‘Chilli Red’ is a hardy fuchsia smothered in masses of buds that resemble bright red chilli peppers. Grow Fuchsias on in warm, frost-free conditions. Pinch out the growing tips while fuchsia plants are still small to promote bushier growth and more flowers. When plants are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a 7 to 10 day period, before planting them in their final positions in patio containers and sunny or semi shaded borders.
