Echinacea SunMagic Vintage Red

A wonderfully compact and free flowering coneflower. Smothered in bright magenta blooms throughout summer, this perennial is easy to grow and maintain. Flower heads are attractive to pollinating insects and seed heads can be used in dried flower arrangements. Height: 60cm (24″). Spread: 45cm (18″).

Echinacea SunMagic ‘Vintage Red’ is an eye-catching coneflower with stiffer petals than most cultivars. Each bloom is a deep pink-red with a prominent rust-brown cone at the centre. Pot up echinacea plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to transplant outdoors. Gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days prior to planting out in borders. Grow echinacea plants in a sunny or semi shaded position on moist, well drained soil. Coneflowers prefer a deep, fertile soil and will benefit from the addition of some well rotted manure or garden compost to soil, prior to planting.
