If you’re looking for a hardy perennial that can cope with poor soils, then Valerian is the plant for you. Centranthus ruber ‘Albus’ will thrive when growing from the base of walls or in coastal gardens, they are very drought resistant and flower almost non-stop through the summer.
The flowering performance of Valerian is incredible, with clusters of clean white blooms from spring through to autumn. Height and spread: 100cm (39″).
Plant Valerian into a well-drained soil in full sun. Plants will also tolerate stony, chalky, difficult soils and will thrive in coastal situations.
