Calamagrostis brachytricha is an exceptional grass which bears extremely showy flower heads. Moreover, unlike many other grasses, it will cope with light shade and a wider range of soils, as long as they’re not boggy. Not only does this grass provide valuable interest to the late summer and autumn garden but its flowerheads persist well into the winter.
Clumps of green foliage produce large feathery plumes with pinkish tints which then fade to biscuity shades. The plumes quiver elegantly in the breeze and look gorgeous when backlit. It’s impossible to resist stroking them! Winner of an Award of Garden Merit. Height: 90cm – 1.2m (35-48in). Spread: 60cm (24in).
